With the construction and utilization of Hang Jin Qu Highway and Jin Li Wen Highway the “one hour highway circle” (one hour drive from Jin Hua to other counties and cities) of Jin Hua has been basically set up. The traffic junction function of land transportation of Jin Hua has become more prominent. The Hang Jin Qu Highway now is the “green passage” from Jin Hua to Shanghai and is the “golden passage” which connects Jin Hua and other south west provinces. It makes Jin Hua merged into the “Yangtze River Delta” economic circle in which Shanghai serves as the centre and into the Hang Hu, Hang Ning and Hang Yong highway economic area; It also connects Qu Zhou and the Huang Qu Nan Highway which will be constructed to put Jin Hua in the leading position of the four provinces and nine cities; After the Hang Jin Qu Highway is open there are five airports which are from 30 minutes’ to 180 minutes’ drive from Jin Hua: Yi Wu Airport, Wen Zhou Airport, Hangzhou Airport, Ningbo Airport and Shanghai Airport. Jin Li Wen Highway opens the entry from Jin Hua to Wen Zhou. At the same time it brings Jin Hua into the highway network of Tong Tai Wen and the highway from Wenzhou to Fuzhou. In this way an sea port exit is formed for Jin Hua. The Yong Jin Highway under construction will be completed at the end of 2005. It is an important massage which connects the central and western part of Zhe Jiang Province, inland parts to the deep sea ports in eastern parts. After it is constructed the three highways “Hang Jin Qu”, “Shang San” and “Yong Tai Wen” are connected together to form an convenient and quick highway network to link Jin Hua, Shao Xin and Ningbo, and cross the middle and eastern part of Zhe Jiang Province. Jin Hua, the junction of land transportation in China and Ningbo, the second largest port of throughput in China now are working hand-in-hand to realize the mutual advantage complement and resource share of the two cities.

The Tai Jin Highway which is a project approved by the Ministry of Communication for construction soon will shorten the distance between Jin Hua and the most dynamic city of Zhe Jiang Province-Tai Zhou. Zhu Yong Highway is part of the main provincial highway network “eighteen connections”. The basic route is Zhu Ji-Dong Yang-Pan An-Xian Ju-Yong Jia; the highway is connected to other highways such as Hang Ji Qu, Yong Jin, Jin Li Wen and Wen Zhou Urban Circle. It is a grand passage which links the five counties with sea. The total distance is 250 kilometers. It is decided by the provincial government that before 2007 the part Zhu Ji-Xian Ju will be completed. At that time all counties (cities and districts) will be connected by highways and the highway network will be better. The Lin Jin Highway under planning is also one part of the main provincial highway network “eighteen connections”. Starting from Qian Qiu Guan (boundary with An Hui Province) and ending Jin Hua City the route links Hang Hui, Hang Xin Jin, Hang Jin Qu and Jin Li Wen highways. It has become an important principle highway which crosses the western part of Zhe Jiang Province. It is also in conformity with the future layout of highways in An Hui Province. After the Lin Jin Highway extends to the north into An Hui Province it will connect the extended part of Zhe Wan Highway in An Hui Province via Yi Zhou City. In this way it will not only promote the economic growth of the western north part of Zhe Jiang Province and north part of An Hui Province but also further improve the road structure of this area. As part of Hang Qu Jin Highway serving as one of the “two lengthways” Jin Hua Circle Highway will a 80 km circle highway in the downtown. The complete highway network will greatly improve the traffic capacity with better service in the network. The highway from Yong Kang to Dong Yang is also being planned. After it is completed it will further strengthen the internal connection among the cities in the middle of Zhe Jiang Province.
